Boychoir

Young Voices' Boychoir has the distinction of being the only all boys treble choir, outside of schools, in the state! Directed by Paul Smith, this training choir is open to boys who can sing in their treble voices.

• Singers must be at least in the 4th grade
• One to two years of choral experience is highly recommended
• Singers should be able to:
  - sing in tune
  - sing in the treble range
  - have a basic understanding of music reading
• Rehearsals are once a week for 105 minutes
• During rehearsals we focus on:
  - vocal technique that is unique to boy singers
  - developing the musical ear
  - becoming verstile singers
  - harmonization
  - singing independently
• Concerts are at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts in December and May
• Additional performances may include:
  - school tours
  - choral festivals
• Singers participate in a day long retreat in the fall
