Boychoir
Boychoir is the only choir in our state that is for boys only! Boychoir members are at least nine years old and in 4th - 8th grade, although they may stay in choir as long as they can sing in their treble voices. Boychoir members are singers with at least two years of choral experience. Members must be able to sing in tune throughout the treble range and have a basic understanding of music reading. Directed by Rhys Harris and Margie Camp, the Boychoir rehearses 90 minutes once a week. The boys concentrate on vocal technique that is unique to boy singers and develop their musical ears in order to become versatile singers who can harmonize and sing independently. They work hard during rehearsals and have a lot of fun together.
In the fall, Boychoir travels to the foothills for an overnight retreat, and in the spring they participate in a one-day tour of area schools. They perform in at least once each semester in addition to their appearance in the Young Voices major concerts in December and May.
