Concert Choir

Directed by Young Voices' founder and artistic director, Jena Dickey, Concert Choir is our advanced large performing choir. Choncert Choir has an exciting history of concerts, guest appearances, and international tours.

• Female singers must be at least in the 7th grade
• Male singers must be at least in the 6th grade
• All singers are welcome to remain in choir until completion of high school
• Singers must be able to:
  - sing in tune throughout the treble range
  - sing in their treble voice effectively
  - sing a part alone while another part is being sung
  - demonstrate a desire to further develop sight reading skills
• Rehearsals are once a week for 135 minutes
• Concert Choir members are highly encouraged to:
  - provide musical leadership in their school
  - participate in their school choir, performing band, or orchestra
• Concerts are at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts in December and May
• Additional performances may include:
  - special concerts
  - guest appearances
  - honor choirs
  - school tours
  - music festivals
  - international competitions
• Singers participate in an overnight choir retreat in the fall
• The choir serves as host choir for our Young Voices' Sing A Mile High Children's Choral Festival
• Becoming a member of Concert Choir requires a full year's commitment
