Choristers

Choristers is Young Voices all-girl choir. Choristers are at least nine years old and in 4th - 8th grade. The girls have at least 2 years of choral experience. They must be able to sing in tune throughout the treble range and have a basic understanding of music reading. Directed by Lori May, the Choristers rehearse for 2 hours once a week. The girls concentrate on vocal technique that is unique to girl singers and develop their musical ears in order to become versatile singers who can harmonize and sing independently. In the fall, Choristers travel to the foothills for an overnight retreat and in the spring they participate in a one-day tour of area schools. They perform in at least once each semester in addition to their appearance in the Young Voices major concerts in December and May.
