Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child need to have experience or vocal training?
Some of the more advanced choirs require choral experience, however, all children with a love for music are encouraged to audition.

What is a treble voice?
A treble voice is the beautiful child's and woman's singing voice.

What is a training choir? Which choirs are considered training choirs?
Training choirs are choirs for children who are still developing their musical skills. TrebleMakers, Choristers, Boychoir, and Cantabella are all training choirs.

What is included in tuition? Are uniforms provided?
Tuition includes regular rehearsal instruction, music, camp, school tour transportation, awards ceremony, rehearsal snacks, and performances. Uniforms are provided but at an additional expense.

Are there scholarships available?
Scholarships are available on a needs basis and applications are available from the office.

What makes Young Voices different from other choirs in the commuity?
Young Voices focuses on the whole child and provides a learning environment that encourages the child to achieve excellence.

What is the benefit of singing in a choir vs. private voice lessons?
Singing in a choir provides the child with a more well rounded environment in which to develop his or her singing voice.

What kind of music do you sing at Young Voices?
Young Voices strives to perform high quality music that represents a variety of musical eras and cultures. While some of this music has religious origins, we perform it for it's cultural, not religious significance.
